Description

The Citizens Advice service helps people resolve their legal, money and other problems by providing free, independent and confidential advice, and by influencing policymakers. It values diversity, promotes equality and challenges discrimination.

 

The Citizens Advice service aims:

 

·        To provide the advice people need for the problems they face.

·        To improve the policies and practices that affect people’s lives.

 

Councillor Representative Role: the councillor representative is a Trustee and a representative of the organisation’s stakeholder (Surrey Heath Borough Council) for a two year term. The CAB Trustee has responsibility for directing the affairs of the charity and ensuring the effective operation of the organisation to provide the outcomes for the benefit of the public. Each Trustee is accountable for all the decisions taken by the Board.
