Mayor

To elect the Mayor for the ensuring year.

Minutes:

It was moved by Councillor Victoria Wheeler and seconded by Councillor David Mansfield that Councillor Pat Tedder be elected Mayor for the ensuing year. There being no further nominations, it was unanimously

 

RESOLVED that Councillor Pat Tedder be elected Mayor of the Borough of Surrey Heath for the ensuing municipal year.

 

Councillor Pat Tedder made and signed the Declaration of Acceptance of Office of Mayor and was invested with the Mayoral Chain of Office.

Councillor Tedderthanked the Council for her election as the 48th Mayor of the Borough.  She paid tribute to everyone who had guided and encouraged her over the years, with particular tribute to her late husband.

 

The Council was informed that Mrs Elizabeth Kirkpatrick –Thody, the Mayor’s daughter, would be the Mayor’s Escort and the Reverend Dan Stork Banks of St Lawrence, Chobham with St Saviour, Valley Endwould be her Chaplain.

 

On behalf of the Council, the Mayor thanked Councillor Robin Perry and his Mayoress, Mrs Jill Boxall, for the way in which they had most ably carried out their duties during the past year.

 

Councillor Perry, in responding, thanked all the councillors, officers and members of the community who had supported him in the past year. In particular, he thanked his Chaplain, Reverend Mike Thomason from High Cross Church, Camberley, for the great support he had provided throughout this mayoral year and the team that had helped with fundraising activities for his charities. He also paid special tribute to the support he had received from his Mayoress, Mrs Jill Boxall.
